FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. What is HIPAA?
A. HIPAA stands for Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act. Please visit the
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services - HIPAA Page
for more information.
Q. How soon can I get an appointment?
A. For urgent situations, we can usually see you the same day as
a "walk-in" patient. For non-urgent situations, we try to see you
in a timely manner.
Q. How long will my appointment take?
A. Appointment times vary. If you are a new patient, it may take
you 15 to 30 minutes to review and fill out our
forms. Therefore,
we recommend that you either print copies, read, and fill out
these forms prior to your appointment, or arrive early enough
to allow yourself time to read and fill them out the day of your
appointment. New patients may spend up to 30 minutes in the
consultation room while follow-up patients may spend as little
as 10 minutes.
Q. What types of insurances are accepted?
A. You may view the list of health plans we accept
here.
However, we recommend that you consult your insurance carrier's
providers directory, or contact them personally, to verify we
participate in your specific plan.
Q. What kind of preparation do you use for colonoscopy?
A. We use several different
preparations for colonoscopy
depending on the patient medical history and preferences, we strive
to tailor the preparation to the individual patient.
Q. Do you provide sedation for your endoscopic procedures?
A. Yes, we provide sedation for all endoscopic procedures. Patient
comfort and safety is our prime concern and the sedation is chosen
with consideration to the individual patient needs.
